The International Early Music Course celebrates its eighteenth edition during Antiqua 2016.

Taking place in Romano Canavese from July 26 to August 2, 2016, it offers lessons for every kind of musician, from amateurs, students to professionals. For the third year recorder pioneer Walter van Hauwe will hold a masterclass for advanced students, together with Dorothee Oberlinger, world-renowned performer and professor at the Mozartheum University in Salzburg. Students are offered a vast range of period instrument classes, from wind instruments such as recorder, traverso, baroque oboe and clarinet to strings and harpsichord. Ensemble classes of Renaissance Consort, Chamber Music, Improvisation and Vocal Ensemble are also part of the study programme. A series of workshops and concerts are meant to give students valuable information on historical performance practice and to expand their knowledge of the ever-changing world of early music.
